About the Course

Three-day intensive course for surgeons and podiatrists to perfect foot and ankle surgery techniques, combining theory, ultrasound, and cadaveric lab practice.

We alternate theory, ultrasound-guided workshops, and cadaver practice with small groups to ensure direct supervision and immediate application of what is learned.

Day 1 - March 5, 2026

Programa
Venue: Hotel Vigo Los Galeones
9:00 – 11:00 Management and resolution of vital problems in the surgical setting (Dr. Jaime Fandiño - Anesthesiologist). Symptoms, maneuvers, and medication from mild to severe cases.
11:20 – 11:40 Coffee Break
11:40 – 14:00 Practical BLS/ALS workshop in the surgical setting. Case-based practice.
14:00 – 15:30 Lunch
15:30 – 17:00 PRP and Hyaluronic Acid workshop (lecture plus clinical cases)
17:00 – 17:20 Coffee Break
17:20 – 20:00 Ultrasound-guided procedures I: structures and pathology; tendinopathies (peroneals, Achilles, TP, TA); tarsal tunnel release; Baxter treatment; fasciotomy; neuroma. One ultrasound unit per pair.

15:30 – 16:15 Lesser toe surgery II (syndactyly, tendon transfers)
16:15 – 17:00 HAV dissection
17:00 – 17:20 Coffee Break
17:20 – 20:00 Forefoot surgical techniques I (Austin, Scarf, Akin)

9:00 – 11:20 Forefoot surgical techniques II (Keller, sesamoid planning, MTP arthrodesis)
11:20 – 11:40 Coffee Break
11:40 – 14:00 Lesser metatarsals (Weil, distal and proximal dorsiflexion osteotomies)
14:00 – 15:30 Lunch
15:30 – 17:00 Participant-choice procedures: Cotton, Evans, Achilles lengthening, open fasciotomy, gastroc resection, subtalar arthrorisis, subtalar fusion, triple arthrodesis, hindfoot tendon transfers
17:00 – 17:20 Coffee Break
17:20 – 19:00 Continuation of participant-choice procedures
19:00 – 20:00 Open practice
22:00 End-of-course dinner (confirm attendance in advance)

Admission Requirements

  • Podiatry or Medicine degree with surgical specialization
